About

My name is Jason Palmer and I help independent restaurant owner-operators by improving operations so they can get back to the family table.

My Restaurant Story

In the summer of 2021, I began managing the family pizzeria. The first 18 months were brutal on my young, growing family. My dad had started the pizzeria when there were still kids in the house. The restaurant industry can be challenging for families.

Using my research background, I started reading everything I could get my hands on. I got frustrated at the fragmented management approach advocated by many restaurant books, videos, and leaders. I needed a holistic framework for understanding and managing my restaurant.

The result of my experience and studies was The Restaurant System, a restaurant management approach that sees a restaurant as a single system and improves the restaurant by targeting the greatest leverage point(s) in the system.

Experience

I graduated with my bachelor's degree in 2015, obtaining two awards from two different departments. I began my master's degree in 2016 and graduated in 2022. In the meantime, I managed a non-profit organization, taught a college course for two years, and completed leadership training sponsored by the local chamber of commerce and the Kansas Leadership Center. I started managing the family pizzeria during the summer of 2021. Later that same year, I completed training in a personal goal achievement and productivity system. In 2024, I became a member of the Lions Club, and in 2025, I became a member of the Theory of Constraints International Certification Organization.
